Just to let you know, if your child is due to start primary school next September your application letter should arrive during November!!!

Weather

Weather – The British weather is unpredictable, please bring appropriate clothing for your child.

Children like to be outside whatever the weather. Especially now we have our new outside sensory/play shed, and construction site and we have finally been able to move equipment that has been stored on top of our giant sandpit.

If you require a member of staff to apply sun cream to your child, children have sensitive skin, please provide individual sun cream for your child, clearly labelled, also,

please ensure they have acoat/jacket hung up in the entrance foyer, as the outside classroom can still be chilly on sunny days!!

Funding

To find out if your child is eligible for funded sessions (15 or 30 hours), please visit the Childcare Choices website at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk. This site also offers guidance on financial assistance for childcare, including Tax-Free Childcare options.

It’s important to provide Craig or Karen with your child’s birth certificate, as this is mandatory for all children receiving funding. If you qualify for the ‘Working Parents’ funding or the extended 30 hours, please present your 11-digit code and National Insurance number for us to input into Devon County Council’s funding portal.

Funding Updates:

  • From September 2024: Families meeting eligibility criteria can access up to 15 hours per week for children from 9 months old. (Please note that we are only registered and insured to take children from 2 years old.)
  • From September 2025: Extended entitlement will allow working parents to access up to 30 hours for children aged 9 months to 5 years, provided they meet the eligibility criteria related to their work. The universal funding for 3- and 4-year-olds and the targeted funding for 2-year-olds will remain unchanged.

For any funding-related queries, please contact Karen, who will do her best to assist you. Remember to reconfirm your entitlement every three months via your personal Gateway Account!

For those who have completed a booking form or reserved sessions, your spots are secure. If you need a reminder of your bookings, please reach out to Karen.
